0.5.X Patch Notes
Hi Hi; Fen here to give you all the Patch Notes for 0.5.0!
So let's get started, first and foremost thank you all for your patience, I know this is a fairly delayed update >_>. Me and Cindesh both took a little vaca and then I got sick! That sucked! Well anyway~ Update is here! With a TON of QoL and a few fantasy focused items~ Plus our first steps working towards the Minigame Update where we plan to introduce a new, no-RNG, way to get most of the items in the game without gambling on pop-ups! We are hoping to have this to you in one month but me and Cindesh this month will be busy with a Game Jam, so there may be a delay there as well, sorry in advanced!
Please give the new update a download, enjoy the new Fantasy Text Adventure Cindesh worked SUPER hard on and enjoy throwing around Byte like she is a toy~
V0.5.0 Patch Notes
- Byte Physics!
- Throw her around, toss her, slam her into the wall! Byte now has physics tied to her dangle and move.
- Byte when thrown will have a Light and Heavy throw state depending on release speed, this will play and display different reactions and animations.
- Byte will be used by other actors when landing on them
- Items additionally have physics applied to them
- NEW System - Minigames
- Minigames are a new progress system being created slowly for 0.6 (Our next update) featuring small byte (heh) sized games that a player may earn tickets to buy items and spawn actors instead of having to depend on RNG. As of this moment, only one Minigame has been created as a proof of concept, please tell us how you feel about this idea!
- Minigame - Dino Dash
- Avoid the horny Gnolls, eat their food, collect prizes, and run as far as you can! Byte will react to your score!
- Modding - You may create your own Minigames as well as full functionality like Dino Dash and future tie in’s with the Minigame systems.
- Settings Update - Rendering
- For users facing Black Transparency box issues, or in general facing hitching or other graphical issues, there is now a toggle in the Display settings to change your rendering system! Certain configurations will help users depending on the system.
- Moving Sex Scenes
- Malwerewolves, new items, and actors may move Byte around during or after their sex scenes!
- Collared Malwarewolf
- His sprite has been adjusted to better fit a companion! He will no longer disappear after fucking Byte. These changes will come to the Collared Fen companion down the line!
- NEW Braindance - Everlust Glade
- A new fantasy themed adventure with 15+ endings (and some alternate scenes depending on if you have a certain character present), a handful of puzzles, characters to screw, and a decently-sized pool of topics to ask about!
- Every important character has 40-50 topics with various synonyms to hopefully catch what you’re really asking!
- Some characters can be recruited to your party after fulfilling their needs!
- Animated scenes for endings that require some puzzle-solving to figure out!
- Check your map for the general layout of Everlust!
- Every ending drops a new fantasy-themed item that you can combine with some others!
- Braindance Additions
- New Commands - Checkpoints! Save and Load so you can try things out without (total) risk~ ((Warning: Saves are not kept between Game Sessions - Memory Limitation))
- New Command - Hint. Feeling stuck? We got you! Some hints have been added to the previous “Knot City” braindance
- New Command - Map
- New Command - Recruit. Perhaps some of the new NPCs can be brought with you on your adventures?
- Command Change - Submit. Not all Submits lead to Gameovers now!
- New Keybinding - Grouping Tool
- Hold Shift + Middle Mouse now moves ALL items to a single screen. Pesky Deadzones no more!* (Deadzones still exist, that bug is currently known and still being worked on)
- Loading Screen
- Byte will present signs of life when booting up, displaying a progress bar to show a user how long till she truly starts up!
- Has tool tips :3
- AI Improvements
- AI’s may now move themselves, Byte or Attached Actors during animations if the animation allows for it.
- Enemy AI may now attempt to avoid your mouse to avoid being despawned
- Companion AI’s will attempt to avoid overlapping each other. This isn’t perfect but they will attempt.
- Companion AI’s will aggro to Byte if she is hard thrown onto the ground to use her.
- Animation Pity System
- Unseen animations will have a higher chance to play the more repeat animations are run from sources that roll for animation outcomes. Eventually a pity system will be reached to allow players to see all animations no matter RNG.
- Tracked stats
- Byte will now keep track of how many times she’s been fucked, among other things! Feel free to ask her! She’s only just started to keep track, so don’t be surprised if your number is super low (for now)
- Modding
- Scripting Restriction has been lifted. Go! Create whatever you want!
- New Terminal Command Arg allows users to grab item paths for item combinations.
- Permanent Tags and Stat Tracking - You may now save tags permanently to a players config file, this includes key tags like how many times Byte has been fucked :3
- Signals - There are now global signals that exist for modders to listen for to better create more complex mods. The four current signals are Item Used on Main Actor, Item Used on Sub Actor, Attachment Start and Attachment End
- Terminal Custom Commands - You may now create your own custom Terminal Commands
- PackedScenes - The Modding tools will now allow caching of generic scenes for modders to use. This may include creating new UI or objects outside our scoop of design.
- Bug Fixes
- Removed the Duplicate Fen Override
- Convo’s no longer play while Byte is Airborne
- Byte no longer freezes up when moved during startup dialogue
- Passive Play Mode will no longer permanently delete and lower the cap of Item Spawns
- Optimization
- Fed the Malwarewolves
And as always!
THANK YOU ALL FOR PLAYING

So I just managed to get my hands on Dino Dash.
There's some instances where left/right click doesn't register and the dino doesn't jump or duck.
Sometimes the prize balls show up on top of the minigame window.
When the game is "ended" and you open a prize ball, the minigame registers the left click as restarting the minigame.
Characters' dialogue will obscure the minigame window.
On a semi-similar note, sometimes I'm trying to pick up items with RMB but instead of holding onto it, it is instantly consumed if Byte or any other compatible character is nearby.
Characters rendering in front of items makes it difficult to find and pick them up.
Wonderful feedback for the minigames! There has been a few bugs logged around the controls of them which we plan to do a full pass to make sure the Minigame focused update fixes all of those <3
As for the items being picked up and auto consumed, Ill make a note of that!
As for the rendering issue with items, sadly that is by design. In the future we want to have furniture items, and for that we need actors in front. It isn't viable to pick or choose the layering on those.
Will there be a possibility to move other actors around? They still like to stand on top of each other, and the only way to get some like the malwarewolves to move is to bait them around with Byte.
Additionally, I feel it'd be helpful to have the menu for dismissing actors to say who you're dismissing, especially since they still like to overlap most of the time and I end up removing the wrong one every time.
In the future it will be, but at the moment it is not. The reasoning behind this is because if we let players drag sub actors around, they would need to have animations like how Byte does, of which we do not at the moment have the production capacity to make those sets of animations. But it is planned for in the future when we are reaching a full release.
At the moment they AI does attempt and does it's best to avoid overlap but it's not perfect.
The Menu displaying which sub-actor is being dismissed has been suggested before! It's on my To-Do for next Major Update!
New update hype
Great changes
The update is great. Thanks.
If I could offer some feedback, it would be really nice to have the gallery picture read the accompanying text log from the adventure.
Oh that's a very good idea! Ill pass that along to Cindesh!
where are mods typically published? do you have a discord that has a part dedicated to modding?
As of the moment there is only one mod that I know. There is a Modding Discord (Not ran by us) that is linked in the Modding DevLog!
